ANNIE ENNIS

MY PHILOSOPHY
I’m fascinated by the connection between interior design and psychology. My approach is rooted in truly understanding each client: how they live, what they value, and what is no longer serving them. I create spaces that work with them instead of against them. I believe the right solution does more than improve your home; it transforms how you move through life. Our surroundings often reflect outdated versions of ourselves, holding us in patterns we have already outgrown. Through intentional design and organization, I help create environments that support growth, restore clarity, and free up the mental energy needed to focus on what really matters.

My story...
I walk into every room thinking about how to make it better: more beautiful, more functional, more intentional.
This inclination has been with me since childhood. Growing up in a big family, I took great pride in restoring peace within our home through my persistent sprucing up of our shared spaces—decluttering, reorganizing, and adding my own thoughtful enhancements. What started as a personal outlet turned into my own business, and eventually led me to study design professionally.
I joined California Closets as a designer in February of 2023 and quickly realized it was more than just a job—it was the perfect fit. The work challenged my creativity, connected me with clients in a meaningful way, and tapped into my natural inclination for bringing order and beauty into a space.
In March of 2024, I attended the annual California Closets conference in Tampa, Florida, and as I got to know the company from a broader perspective, I experienced a powerful sense of alignment. From participating in the breakout sessions to connecting with fellow designers, I was on cloud nine and returned home more inspired than ever. While my passion for the work continued to grow, it became clear that Portland, Oregon, was not my forever home. I relocated to New York City a little over a year ago and haven’t looked back since.

Before stepping into interiors full time, I spent several years in San Diego, where I worked in sales and digital media. I managed online platforms that reached over 50 million followers. It was fast-paced, visual, and constantly evolving, which helped sharpen the skills I bring into my work today: creative problem-solving, client communication, and a deep understanding of how people interact with their environments.

I’m ready to get back to the work I love. I create elevated, functional spaces and deliver a level of service that is deeply personal, thoughtful, and above standard. I thrive in fast-paced environments, build trust quickly with clients, and care about the details that turn a space into something exceptional. It would be a true honor to continue my career with the California Closets New York team. I already possess a strong foundation, but I’m here to grow, contribute, and fully commit to the excellence this franchise is known for.

Completed 50+ organization projects in all areas of the home with the most common being; kitchen/bathroom cabinets, garages, laundry/bonus/playrooms, and outdoor storage sheds.
-
Projects were tailored to each client’s preferences and level of involvement. The process typically began with a detailed inventory assessment and evaluation of how the space was used. This was followed by purging and sorting, either independently by the client or with direct support. I then outlined rough space plans and provided recommendations for storage solutions to purchase prior to the final phase. The final phase included clearing out the space, deep cleaning, and organizing all items in alignment with the plan.
